Miss K

We LOVE our Miss K! She takes such wonderful care of our boys and they absolutely adore her. She gives the boys such wonderful care and attention to them both. I can go on for days about her but I won't make her blush (anymore than she already is). WE LOVE MISS K!!!!

Secret Agent Kit

Because all great secret agents need a Secret Kit filled with Spy gear (like crayons, water bottles, and foam squares).

Friends

The boys are really becoming fast friends! We have really enjoyed watching their relationship develop. Avery giggles and laughs just hearing Wm's voice and Wm hugs and kisses on A every chance that he gets.

Advent

William and Avery received an Advent Calendar for Christmas this year from Gamma. Wm has enjoyed counting the days to Christmas day. And Mike and I have loved being part of this daily ritual. We've especially enjoyed listening to Wm's process of reasoning. For example, "Mommy, Babies don't sleep in the hay...Camels do..."

Back to Basics

If you know us, you know that prior to having kids, Mike and I loved to spend our free time hiking. Well, since the boys are a bit older now, we have been looking forward to sharing our love of hiking with them. We decided that our first 'hike' should be an easy one. A few weeks ago we took the boys out to Papago Park to a butte above the Phoenix Zoo. Wm was so very excited. We had a lot of fun and were pleasantly surprised at how brave he was, wanting to climb higher and go further. Avery loved it just as much. He squealed and screamed with delight the entire time we were out. We enjoyed our time so much! Hiking will definitely be a family activity from here on out.

BOB - The Elf

Bob, the Elf, has come to stay at our house. He is Santa's special helper who comes to our house to make sure our boys are being "Nice". Every night, after the boys go to bed, Bob uses his magic to fly to the North Pole and report to Santa what he has seen throughout the day. Every morning, Bob returns in a new place to observe for the day. Wm loves Bob and giggles whenever he discovers Bob's daily hiding place. Let's just hope that Bob sees some nice things around here in the next few weeks! Bob - and a couple of his hiding places.

Christmas Decorating

The boys had so much fun decorating the house this year. Wm is really, really looking forward to Christmas time and Avery loves the lights and sounds of the holidays. Even the Kitty got in on the action.

Thanksgiving 2010 - Hiking

On Thanksgiving Day, we took the boys back to Papago Park for a second hike. This time we set out for a one hour adventure. We chose the Double Butte hike which was only a 2 mile loop. Well, let me just say, 2 miles with an adventurous 3 year old takes much longer than an hour....much longer! But we had a great time. The geography of the park lends itself to be the setting for wonderfully adventurous stories. On Thanksgiving day, we chose to search for dragons in the hills.

William found a fossil dragon foot!
