We took William for his first official haircut today. I’ve trimmed his hair a couple of times but this was his first trip to the ‘salon’. We decided to take him to a kids place to ease any fear he may have had (but ultimately I think Mike and I were much more afraid than William). We were very specific on what we did (and did not) want and tried to make sure that the stylist did not cut too much. Unfortunately, in the end the haircut was WAY too short for our liking. Mike and I were both sick over it. Our little surfer’s curls were gone…but in the end it is only hair…and it will grow back.

Hall of Flame
William has really, really been into firefighters and fire trucks lately so for our Saturday activity this weekend we surprised William with a trip to the Hall of Flame. It is one of the largest fire fighter museums in the world and it is located here in Phoenix. We had such a great time. William was so excited and he ran from engine to engine showing us all of the equipment. We were amazed at the number of engines that the museum held and the ages of some of them as well. They were magnificent. We all had a lot of fun and will be returning again in the future.

Local Celebrities
A few weeks ago we were asked by a local news station if they could interview us for an article that they were planning for Sunnygram and we accepted. Well, it finally aired tonight. It is a sweet piece and the news station did a great job at describing Sunnygram’s services. We are very grateful to the owners of Sunnygram (especially Laurie Wilson Ahart and her husband) for allowing us to use their service. It has been a wonderful way to communicate with the William’s Great Grandmothers.

My First Baseball Game
William was able to attend his first baseball game on Friday evening thanks to some free tickets. Uncle David, Kori, and the three-point five of us went downtown for an evening game (D-backs vs. Dodgers); unfortunately the D-backs lost but I don’t think Wm cared much. He had so much fun and was mesmerized watching the game. Wm was given a special pin, popcorn, and cotton candy for his first game. After the game there was an added treat of fireworks (which scared Wm a bit because of the loud BANG-POP overhead). But we had a great time!
