Christmas Night

After our relaxing day at home, we packed up and headed to the Gardner’s for Christmas dinner with our AZ family. We had a wonderful time just relaxing, visiting, and watching all of the kids play together. *Christmas 2009

Gifts from Grams and Gramps

Grams and Gramps sent a package for William; included with the gift package was a story of Pooh written especially for Wm. He adored the story and had Pooh Bear help him open his special gifts from Grams and Gramps on Christmas morning. After the gifts were opened (a plate set), Pooh, Wm, and Daddy had a picnic together in the living room. It was a very special picnic!

*By the way, Wm’s wetsuit was also a very special gift sent to him by his Uncle Dave in SF

Christmas Morning

After a very, very late Christmas Eve, our family had a very calm and quiet Christmas Morning. Wm awoke to the sounds of sleigh bells and gifts from Santa. We then took our time (over 4 hours) and slowly opened our gifts and played with our toys. We had a great time. We were also able to Skype with Uncle Dave, Aunt Adele, and Luella in Canada and with Gpa/Gma Marshall in California. It was a wonderful morning. *Christmas 2009

Family Photo Shoot

Every Christmas Mike and I try to get a couple of photos of our family around the tree. This year we had a little comedian join us. We were laughing so hard at Wm’s version of “Chhheeezzzzeee” (which was “PUNK ROCK!”) that we were hardly able to get a serious shot in. Here are the best of the best.

Christmas Eve

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve at the Langley’s house with the McMorran clan. There was wonderful food, wine, and company. We all shared a lot of laughs and really enjoyed our time together. *More photos on Shutterfly - Christmas 2009.

Savor Every Moment

William and Mommy made Christmas cookies together last Sunday. We both had so much fun making the dough, rolling and cutting out the shapes, watching them bake, decorating the cookies, and then finally eating them! Mike and I took amusement in watching Wm with his first cookie. Since Wm does not get a lot of candies and cookies here at home we were curious as to whether or not he’d devour the treat. To our surprise, Wm took a lot of time, savoring every lick and bite. Mike asked several times if he could have a bite of Wm’s cookie and the response was always the same, “NO DADDY, ‘dis one is mine!”. Wm has since been treated with more cookies and he has savored each one in the exact manner…no rushing this kid!

Super Men

Mike and Wm have been spending a lot of time as Super Heroes lately. They fly around the world (our house) in their costumes (blankets, towels, and clips) and save the world from the bad guys (Mommy)…

Polar Express

We had an amazing time this year at the Polar Express! This was our second annual trip and it is worth every second (and every dime). This year was especially nice because of William’s fascination with Christmas and trains - He was in heaven the entire trip. The Polar Express is a night train that leaves from Williams, AZ and warps through a tunnel to the North Pole. They read the Polar Express book, serve cookies and hot cocoa, sing carols, and even have a surprise visit from Santa on the train. It is truly magical for the kids. We also had the added benefit of snow this year; it was William’s first experience with the cold stuff and he just couldn’t get enough of it. Although it was extremely cold and windy AND we ended up caught in the first snow (blizzard) of the season without snow chains for the car, we would not have missed it for the world.

Zoo Lights

Every year the Zoo puts on a Holiday event called Zoo Lights. The zoo is open late for viewing holiday displays and music. We took a quick trip last Tuesday night. There are ‘dancing trees’ and a talking giraffe among thousands of lights… William loved it and we will be sure to take another trip before the event ends.
