Schnepf Farms

We have a terrific pumpkin patch that we try to take William to every year. Last year we went at night and this year we tried a day trip. It was still a lot of fun but the night time is just a little more magical there. Wm took a train ride, they have carnival rides, a petting zoo, corn maze, and of course, pumpkins. It was a lot of fun for our entire family.

Still California Dreaming

For about 3 days after we came back from our beach trip all Wm wanted to do was to ‘surf’ on his little borrowed surf board and to watch Daddy’s surf videos. He LOVES the beach!

California Dreaming

We had such a great weekend in California! We were able to spend a lot of quality time with our very important people and we enjoyed every second – even those sleepless nights! Here’s the quick recap…

Friday – Went to Oak Glen with Gma/Gpa, Greg, and Brenna…Oak Glen was a bust this year because of a poor crop and hot weather but we still managed to have a little fun.

Friday night – We spent the evening at Gma/Gpa’s house with a lot of our friends, family, and Grams/Gramps.

Saturday – We headed to Del Mar for Aunt Fae’s 90th Birthday party! It was a lot of fun. We were able to spend more time with Grams/Gramps and play in the sunshine. We even got to see Uncle Dave, Aunt Adele, and Lue!!!!!

Saturday night – We headed back to Hemet and spent the evening with Tom, Linda, Bob, and Allison. It was great to see everyone and to have a relaxing visit while watching the baseball playoffs.  *Sorry again for the figurine Linda*

Sunday – We had breakfast with Gma/Gpa then hopped in the car and headed to Del Mar once again. In Del Mar we met up with Wes and Ale Sechrest (Tio/Tia) for lunch and then with Uncle Dave, Aunt Adele, and Luella at the hotel. We stayed at the most amazingly funky hotel, went to Torrey Pines beach, and then to a wonderful dinner at Jake’s.

Monday – We lazed around the hotel until late afternoon and then had breakfast at Pipe’s. Uncle Jimmy and Sparrow stopped by to say a quick ‘hello’ (*thank you guys*). Then we said our goodbye’s to our SF family and headed out on our own. Mike, William, and I spent the rest of the day at Moonlight beach just lounging about, playing in the surf, and going for a long walk. It was amazing!

Another GREAT weekend – They truly make it so hard to leave as we love our families and the beach SO MUCH….

Big Boy Bed

William has officially transferred over to a big boy bed. We are so proud of him! The transition has been seamless (almost…he’s fallen out of bed twice). He absolutely loves his new room and doesn’t even fight us to go down anymore. We still have some work to do on the room like updating his graphics and adding shelves but it’s looking good. We just cannot believe how big he is. Here are some photos from his first night in bed.

Boy, oh boy, ohhh BOY!!!

William got one final birthday present yesterday. He/we learned that William is going to be the big brother to a new baby boy!!! We are all so, so excited. The baby is measuring right on target; he is healthy and growing strong and the doctor said that I am ALL baby. We are working on names still but we’ve got plenty of time.

Here are a couple of ultrasound photos for your enjoyment. BTW – the “It’s a boy” photo angle is taken from below his bottom looking up. He’s got one butt cheek on the left, one on the right, and a clear view of his man stuff in the middle. We’ve been asked by several disappointed family members if “we are sure” that it’s a boy. And yes, we are sure…the photo may not be that great but the little man gave us plenty of opportunities to view his gender during the duration of the ultrasound. He is not nearly as shy or stubborn as his brother was at this stage.

Birthday Boy

William turned 2 on Saturday!!! We can hardly believe how fast the time has gone by with our little man! He is developing into such a fun little person. He is almost always happy (although he does have both of our stubbornness). His language is skills are growing day by day and he is conceptualizing ideas/thoughts and relating them to everyday life. We are so very proud of him.

His birthday was great! We spent the morning with quiet family time and then Uncle David and Kori came over for breakfast and gifts. We had planned a trip to the Hall of Flame but the morning activities were too overwhelming to throw in a museum trip also. Saturday evening we headed to Uncle Scott’s and Aunt Cindy’s for a BBQ/B-day celebration. Uncle Scott’s B-day was Sunday so we were able to celebrate them together. We had a great time hanging out with Mike’s family, some friends, and having birthday cake.

Sunday was spent with just Mommy and Daddy. We played with ALL of Wm’s new toys and gifts. It was nice to have a quiet ‘down-day’ after a month of craziness. Overall, we think Wm had a pretty good birthday weekend celebration.

Nana's Music Quilt

William received a very special gift while in SF. His Nana (great grandmother on Mike’s side) has worked over 2 years on a special quilt just for William. It is absolutely astonishing. Here are a few photos of William’s new prized possession. (Thank you Nana for this WONDERFUL gift; it is priceless)!

Update - Sort of...

I know; I know… it’s been WAY too long since our last update…I PROMISE that I will get the activities of the past month logged soon. Things have been wildly crazy (even by our crazy standards). The quick run down is…Mike broke his wrist skating our empty pool and then headed to Las Vegas for a week of conferences. At the same time, I had to take a trip to Boston for corporate team meetings. William spent the entire week showing Gma/Gpa who was boss of his house. Mike and I came back only to have Wm and I come down with a NASTY bug. Although still under the weather (but not contagious), we flew to SF last weekend to meet baby Luella and spend some quality time with Mike’s side of the family. We came home Monday, Tuesday was Mike’s birthday, and now we are gearing up for William’s 2nd birthday which is on Saturday. Somewhere within all of that we’ve managed to continue on with daily activities and work schedules…so, as you can see we’ve been a little nutty. More updates and photos to follow…promise J
