Heavenly Weekend

We have just returned from a wonderful weekend in San Diego and let me just say that it was HEAVENLY!

Mike, William, and I were able to take an extended weekend to the coast and to visit, play and lounge with our wonderful friends and family. I cannot express enough just how much fun we had and there are so many good photos (we took over 575) from the weekend that I’m not sure how to pick the absolute best for the blog.

We began our trip with a sleepover at William’s Gpa/Gma M’s house and a quick visit with his Great Gma Mac who was in the hospital. After our visits we headed to the beach. We stayed at our friends beach house for the first 2 nights and then at Mike’s cousin’s condo on Saturday night. Many friends were able to come and visit us during our time. Mike was able to surf all 4 days, I was able to really relax, and William was able to play, and play, and play. We visited a meditation garden and took a nature walk through San Elijo Lagoon. We also spent a lot of time on the beach. And although it took him all 4 days to get the hang of the sand and ocean when William finally relaxed he REALLY enjoyed himself.

All in all, it was a wonderful time. We could not be more grateful for the hospitality and generosity of our wonderful friends and family. And we CANNOT WAIT to do it again very soon.

Sanctuary

When William is too quiet we generally know just where to find him…he's reading in his room. Today was no exception. I was updating the blog when I realized that I hadn’t heard from him in a couple of minutes. I went searching and here is what I found. I swear this is not staged…he loves to read all of his books in the frog tent in his room. Oh, what a kid!

Easter 2009

Wow,

I cannot believe that Easter has come and gone so quickly. We had a wonderful day filled with a lot of activity and family. We had planned on going to Easter service in the morning but somehow we all 3 slept in till 9 am. After finding William’s Easter basket we headed off to brunch with our Phoenix Family (the Langley’s, the Gardner’s, the McMorran’s, David Marshall, and Weston English). There was an Easter Egg Hunt, an extended game of Head’s Up – 3 Up (I think that is correct), a jam session, and craft time. We all had a great time together and the kids ran non-stop until we left at 6:30 pm! Although there were some bumps in the day such as William refusing to nap and Cindy getting called into work; it was one very fun day!

Not so sure about this Egg Hunt thing...

Game time - we have some seriously competitive kids in this family!

Almost warm enough for the pool

Enough said...
