Ahhhh, what a sense of relief! We have replaced our camera and I could not be happier. This camera has the same functionality as the old one but with the added advantage of being able to record HD video too! I am so, so grateful that my husband understands how incredibly important cameras and capturing memories are to me – Thank you, Mikey!

Playing in W's World
Here are a couple of shots of Uncle David and Kori playing with William in his new playroom.
Things to do with a toddler
Ah, this summer has been quite a challenge for us outdoorsy types. In heat that can reach 115 or more, we often find ourselves asking, “What are we going to do with William today?” William loves to be outside and often cries at the back door – “Play outside Mommy; play, play…” Unfortunately it is just simply too hot right now. Mike came up with a great solution to this weekend’s dilemma…He and William built race tracks. They lay down painter’s tape all throughout the dining room, made jumps, obstacles, and a ramp down the stairs to race cars. It worked wonderfully and as you can see they both had a great time.

William's World
Well, we have finally finished it. Our quick little one day closet expansion is finally complete – and we could not be happier with the turnout. Over the 4th of July weekend we embarked on this project with the help of my dad and a neighbor. We knocked the back of the wall out from under the stairway closet. Dad added some electricity while our neighbor dry walled the area. Mike painted and laid flooring and I decorated. It was a team effort for sure. But William now has his very own play space (to call it a room would elicit a visit from CPS). To the left of the area are bookshelves; to the right is a magnetic chalkboard wall; and the back space is filled with cubbies for all of William’s cars, toys, and musical instruments. What do you think???? William LOVES it and so do we!
Thank you to everyone who helped!

San Francisco
We had a marvelous time in San Francisco last weekend. It was wonderful to get away from the heat here in Arizona and to visit with Dave and Adele. The weather was great (cold/foggy at the beach and warm/sunny in the city and inland).
We arrived on Friday morning (really early) and were able to get in a full day there. Dave took us to see his most current job; and may I just say – it is FABULOUS! The work that both he and Adele have put into this home is unspeakably good. After a quick bite and nap we went into the city. Mike, Dave, William and I did some sight seeing while Adele had an afternoon of luxury J The four of us took a Cable Car, went to the Embarcadero, watched cyclists, and watched the boats. It was a wonderful day.
Saturday morning was spent near/around/at Dave and Adele’s home in Ocean Beach. Mike, William, and I took some family time and walked along the beach with Jaxson. We then went to the Cliff House for breakfast and back into the city after naps to see the Sea Lions at Pier 39. We had a fabulous homemade dinner Saturday night. And we all fell asleep watching Teen Wolf…so much fun.
Sunday was another adventure (and the whole purpose of our visit). We spent the morning at the house relaxing and then it was off to Berkley for Dave and Adele’s Baby Prep Party. D/A’s good friends generously opened their home for the afternoon to welcome the newest McMorran into the world. It was a lot of fun meeting all of Dave and Adele’s friends. There were also plenty of kids for William to play with. We even had the opportunity to visit with Aunt Carol which was wonderful.
Monday morning it was back to the airport (minus the camera, Mike’s iPhone, and William’s prized blankies). It was a wonderful trip (although expensive with the loss of the camera and phone) but one that we will never forget. Hopefully I will be able to pass along some photos once I receive them from Dave.
Goodbye good friend
Uh, this week has been extremely tough on me as I have lost a tremendous asset to my life… On our trip to San Francisco last weekend I left my Canon Rebel camera and lenses under the seat on the plane. Unfortunately our attempts to retrieve the camera have failed. I was literally ill all weekend at the thought of what I had done. First, I HATE losing things! HATE IT! I strive to not misplace items and get extremely frustrated when something like this happens (which it rarely does). Second, this camera means almost everything to me…we don’t have a video camera and I have used the Canon for the past 5 years to document everything in our lives. I use it every single day to take shots of our lives and of William. Without it I feel lost. And third, uh…the expense of replacing the camera…uh, it just makes me sick… I do have to take it all with a grain of salt though. My family is safe and healthy and that is truly the most important thing in my life. Unfortunately, updates on the blog and through email will be photo-less for the unforeseeable future. Sorry.

Funny Guy
In the last two days, William has demonstrated a new personality development. We are not quite sure where it has come from but it is really comical. If William is not getting his way for some reason he throws out a HUGE sigh, puts his head down, and walks into another room. If you do not respond to his actions then he will pace back and forth continuing to sigh over and over again. It is the funniest thing ever! And we have no idea where he learned the behavior from; I guess it’s better than throwing a crazy screaming tantrum…Uh, you just gotta love him though.

Good Swimmer
William is doing so well swimming and we are very happy that he loves the water as much as we do. It has been extremely hot here in Phoenix and the only way William can play outside is if he is lathered in sunscreen and dipped in the pool. William absolutely loves it though. He is jumping into the water from the side, blowing bubbles; he does Superman arms and big kicks to the edge. He has a blast! Hopefully he will be completely water safe by summer’s end.
4th of July
We had a wonderful 4th of July celebration at the Langley’s house this year. We swam, had a bbq, and watched fireworks. The kids were all able to have sparklers thanks to William’s Gramma and Grampa M who were visiting. Unfortunately, in the rush to get to the party I forgot my camera at home…no photos – I am so bummed!
We hope that you all had a wonderful and safe 4th of July as well.
